Day 13

Katherine to Warmun 732 km

We departed Katherine to commence our journey west. The scenery along the route continues to amaze. We expected to see long expanses of unchanging country however the landscape or flora are ever evolving and quite spectacular. Due to our distance and time goals, we couldn’t stop to take photos of all the amazing sites. We both agree we need to redo the lap at a more leisurely pace.

Today saw us crossing in Western Australia. There is a quarantine check point on the border which did not concern us, others were held there for quite some time due to the thorough inspection.

We rode into Kununurra and we’re pleasantly surprised by the beautiful green grass and the lake right on the edge of town. We planned to overnight here however, due to the 90 minute time change and that we both felt well, we decided to ride onto Warmun.

We saw multiple flocks of birds and had some close encounters with Galahs and the occasional Eagle. We also saw our first Dingo.
