Dave’s bike is a BMW 1250GS.
Neil’s bike is a Triumph Explorer 1200.
Dave’s bike has a 30 litre fuel tank, Neil’s is only 20 litres. To make up for some of the fuel capacity shortfall, Neil is carrying a 6 litre fuel bladder. To date we have not used the fuel bladder, and now we are back in the Eastern states we don’t expect we’ll use the bladder.
We weighed the bikes at Katherine. Both bikes with full tanks, luggage and riders weigh 450kg.
Dave and Neil have noticed the Tiger has travelled further than the BMW. This could be due to differences in the odometers.
We have recorded the fuel prices and consumption. This information is available here.
